Fishermen Trained

E-mail Print PDF
Malawi fisherman at sunriseI recently trained some students in open air campaigning near Lake Malawi. Eight percent of students were fishermen and they understood well when I was talking of fishing for men. I stayed there five days and every meal was served with fish. I enjoyed swimming in Lake Malawi, where the water was cool, and I also tried to ride a small canoe.

Drunkard At Peace

In Mponela we had two open air meetings. At one of these an old man collapsed after hearing the gospel. He said he had been drinking for 35 years and had not found peace all that time, and he was so touched by the gospel message.

M was made a pastor of a new church planted by SOWERS, and he expanded the church by doing more open air meetings. He became the Sower who looked after all the teams in the local districts. The bicycle has helped him to go round encouraging all the teams in the area, teach seminars, and follow up new converts.

Bicycle Power #1

African on bicycleH was frustrated because most of the trips to spread SOWERS are far from his home village, so after he had finished with the training nearby he failed to proceed. However when he received a bicycle, H began organising seminars, leading open air meetings and having meetings with local church leaders to tell them about the SOWERS Program. More doors are still being opened where H is ministering.

Bicycle by the lakeJ is a very active young man and has been nicknamed Mr Sower. With his sketchboard he has preached from one village to another. Where he was preaching he was starting a Bible study and some of these study groups were becoming churches. Now that he has been given a bicycle he can go round to those Bible study groups, visit new churches planted, teaching seminars and doing open air meetings.
