“.... Behind Closed Doors ...”
I am currently visiting Australia and New Zealand, having come to attend the Baptist World Congress 2025 in Brisbane, Australia. Following that, I am visiting Murray and Selwyn. In both countries, I am meeting with prayer partners, churches, and home groups. I have been warmly welcomed and well cared for here, and this hospitality has been incredibly encouraging. Nevertheless, what has amazed me most is the large number of people who pray for the ministry of SOWERS in Africa and beyond. Many of these prayer supporters are elderly, aged between 70 and over 90, and they faithfully pray for the ministry daily, with some having prayed for over forty years. This has profoundly challenged me, as it reminds me that it is the prayers of many faithful individuals, whom I may never meet, that sustain us in the SOWERS program in Africa. Their dedication to prayer recalls my own mother in the village, who has been praying for me for many years. This serves as a reminder that prayer is the driving force behind what we do for God’s kingdom, and we must cultivate a continuous attitude of prayer and dependence on God as we serve through the SOWERS program.
