SOWERS STARTS IN NAMIBIA

It is always exciting to hear of the development and expansion of the work internationally and nationally. For example, SOWERS has been invited to start the ministry in Namibia. Godfrey, from Malawi, spent ten days in late 2024 conducting Level 1 and Level 2 seminars to 10 participants, 3 Africaans and 7 Namibians. There was quite a lot of scepticism about the open-air meeting attracting anyone, but the participants were greatly shocked when they counselled 48 people. They were surprised that a simple and cost-effective method of reaching people with the gospel could be so effective. They are planning for the follow-up and to do Level 3.

A CHANGED MAN

Juniper, who was a crook and chain smoker, attended an open-air meeting at a village market. When he heard the Word of God preached he responded, praying a prayer of repentance to receive Jesus as his Lord and personal Saviour of his life. He is a changed man and is now attending a local Church. – Machesso, Mozambique,

TWO HEADMEN COME TO CHRIST

“We thank God for the wonderful time we have had in this quarter, for many souls who came to Christ during our open-air meetings in the area. Two village headmen come to Christ at these meetings, and joined churches. We have established Bible study groups at two churches. We thank God for the provision of Proclaimers (Radio Bibles) from the Bible Society”. - Mateyo, Malawi

THE RESPONSE WAS OVERWHELMING

Emmanuel on a recent visit to Uganda reports, “I had the privilege of joining a newly planted church, 30 km from Lake Albert in Uganda, for an unforgettable open-air meeting after the Sunday service! I've been blessed to be among this vibrant community, who have recently completed SOWERS Level 1 training. Witnessing their passion and dedication in sharing the Gospel has been truly inspiring. Together, we shared messages of hope, prayed for the community, and distributed Gospel materials. The response was overwhelming, with many seeking prayer and counsel. I’m grateful for the opportunity to support this budding church and empower them to reach their community with the love of Christ.

FROM 15 TO 74

A SOWERS team from Mozambique, led by Level 3 Sower Pastor Maganizo, went out to a village to conduct an open-air meeting and preached there. A few people responded to the message. With follow-up, the church started with 15 people and is being led by Orlando. The church is one year old now and has grown to 74 people. There is an active team in the church that goes out to share the gospel and to follow-up new converts. The church received a gift of Bibles from SOWERS.

THEY COULD NOT BELIEVE THEIR EYES

At a shopping centre in Zimbabwe, a sketch board suddenly appeared before people and a man with a brush started painting. Within a few minutes, people flocked to the sketch board from all directions to satisfy their curiosity. A powerful message of God's love and repentance was delivered. Those who prayed to receive Christ were counselled.

HEARTFELT GRATITUDE

"On behalf of Immanuel Christian Fellowship (ICF), I extend our heartfelt gratitude for your (Emmanuel, Kenya) time, dedication, and effort in teaching us about evangelism over the past two days. Your passion for spreading the Gospel and equipping believers with practical evangelism skills has truly been a blessing to our church.
"Your teachings have not only strengthened our understanding of the Great Commission but have also ignited a renewed zeal in us to reach out to the lost with the love of Christ. We deeply appreciate the sacrifices you made to be with us, sharing your knowledge and experiences to help us grow in faith and mission.
"May the Lord continue to bless you, strengthen you, and expand your ministry as you labour in His vineyard. We look forward to staying connected and implementing what we have learned to advance God’s Kingdom.
"Once again, thank you for your invaluable contribution to our church and community. May God’s grace and peace be with you always." - Pastor Amos

A NEWLY PLANTED CHURCH RECEIVES BIBLES

A newly church (planted by an evangelical church team in Mozambique), was visited in March by Pastor Machesso, the SOWERS Coordinator, to encourage the church and to hand over a gift of Bibles.
